Our first AGM (annual meeting of members). Welcome!
July 22 - 15:00 - 18:00
Dear friends,I hope that you are happy with the summer sun!The ARCC is more than three years old, and we are looking into acquiring a more formal status for the club to facilitate event organizing and grant applications. In order to do that, we have to introduce membership and to get the constitution approved by a few members.
Club members will enjoy discounts for the ARCC events, and some of the events will be free for them. Non-members will be able to attend our events but at a higher price. Members can also influence the decision-making process and programming. The annual membership starting from August 2018 is going to be £50.
Tickets will be mandatory for all the events except our regular monthly screenings that will continue to be funded by your voluntary donation.
Here are just some of our plans for next year:
We are going to continue our regular film screenings and to hold some special retrospectives.
We are planning to continue translation workshops with Alexandra Borisenko and Victor Sonkin. The existing group of translators is finishing the translation and editing of Linor Goralik’s short stories that will be first published online. We are planning Goralik’s visit and are looking for a publisher for her stories in English. In addition, a new group of translators will join us.
We are going to continue running Marina Razbezhkina’s workshops.
We are planning new workshops and regular interactive courses, in particular, on history of Russian poetry and Literature of the 20th and 21st centuries.
We are going to continue bilingual theatre readings and will invite Natalia Vorozhbit.
We are making arrangements to bring over DOC. theatre.
We are welcoming a lot of interesting poets and writers including Irina Evsa, Timur Kibirov, and others.
We will continue presenting outstanding musical talents. And, of course, we are looking forward to your ideas, your participation, and your invaluable support. Our first AGM (annual meeting of members) will be held on Sunday 22nd July in my garden, at 35 Capstan Way SE16 5HH London.
I am looking forward to seeing you there.
If you are unable to come, you can still become a member. Please let me know what your plans are and I’ll be happy to arrange for a meeting.
Needless to say, we’ll be happy to see our regular friends and visitors even if they have no plans of becoming a member.
Please RSVP ASAP. by email@example.com
With love, Larissa
